From May 21st to 23rd, over 1,000 maritime professionals from across Europe gathered to drive joint action on the European marine ecosystem. Members of the Propelor team attended the event to share insights on the BluePoint project.
The event was attended by key European leaders including An Taoiseach, Micheal Martin and other inspiring speakers, disruptors and change makers.
Highlights were dynamic sessions and invaluable networking events which provided the BluePoint team with opportunities to engage with startups, projects and key members of the maritime community.
Also present at the gathering was BluePoint Project partner, University of Limerick's CRIS team, who showcased the advanced drone technology used as part of the project activities.
As the European maritime community strives to connect and collaborate, EMD continues to be a driving force behind sustainable progress and innovation in the sector.
EU pledges over €300 million in ocean conservation efforts
The European Union announced €301,485,000 in EU funding to support actions in the areas of the sustainable blue economy, marine pollution, marine protected areas, digital oceans, sustainable fisheries, and ocean and climate change. More information is available at:

The EU Blue Economy Report 2025
The Blue Economy sectors play an increasingly important role in achieving the European Commission's key priorities to make the EU more competitive, sustainable, resilient and secure. The eighth edition of the EU Blue Economy Report provides a thorough overview of the scale and breadth of the Blue Economy within the EU.
Its primary aim is to offer guidance to policymakers and stakeholders in fostering the growth of ocean-based and maritime-related markets and the sustainable use of coastal and marine resources. By providing economic insights into opportunities that emerge from the energy and digital transition, the Report also aims to attract investment in the Blue Economy sectors.
